In any “forecast”, what conflicting & opposing energies will people, groups, & institutions, try to make use of? Things don't just happen by themselves: the choices people make will be decisive. What are the polarities in any configuration: This versus That? What is positive & negative in any energy? What is likely & unlikely?
Our “forecasts” are always limited by what we don't know or don't imagine. We tend to see what we want to see, so we need to try to be aware of all of the alternative possibilities in any configuration.
What is likely & unlikely? Human nature doesn't change. History continues to repeat the same cycles, past, present, & future. Radical transformation happens, but slowly: a sudden utopia or apocalypse will not usually occur. We are advised to use informed common sense, but be alert for the unexpected. Wild idealism or doom saying tends to lead our “forecasts” astray.
Here I am focusing on significant moments to look at the character of the flow of time. Under each date, I am looking mostly at the hard aspects active at that time (with about an 8 degree orb of influence at most). The focus is on collective energies that inform how & why people, groups, institutions, may act as they do; not on concrete outcomes that are only uncertain possibilities & that depend on unpredictable factors.
I have focused mainly on Pluto & issues of public power & control; Neptune & issues of public belief; & Uranus, issues of disruption, & technology & public policy. The mood of the year looks to be generally conflicted, partisan, polarized, & pessimistic. Other interpretations are also valid. There are many other themes in 2024 that I have not looked at here.

Sun conjunct (focused on) Mercury: Life activities are driven by ideology & disinformation. Can we separate truth from political propaganda?
Moon conjunct Jupiter in Taurus: Public attention faces controversies about religion & justice.
Moon square (in conflict with) Pluto in Capricorn (out of Sign): The nation is under siege by conservative versus progressive extremes that want to control it.
Venus in Scorpio opposite (confronts) Uranus in Taurus: Social relationships & values are subject to disruptive forces.
Mars in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces: Fear & anger over irrational beliefs; confused & irrational actions.
Pluto is about to enter Aquarius: This will be a major historical transition.

Pluto dips into Aquarius for about 7 months. This previews a major long-term historical shift. This will be a major transition from group power to individual power.
Will Pluto in Aquarius see political & social power in the hands of ordinary individuals, who have technological control of information & freedom of thought? Or will this be a time of extreme power exercised by a few dominating individuals; not power to ordinary people. There will be an upheaval in the power structure: power for the sake of the very powerful versus power for the sake of civil & human rights.

Sun conjunct Pluto, both newly in Aquarius: The desire for power & control will be greatly amplified, especially if it can be exercised through governmental, corporate, financial, or religious institutions.
Moon in Gemini square Saturn in Pisces: Public activity will be increasingly subject to severe moral attitudes, whether conservative or progressive extremes. Can we find a healthy balance?
Mercury in Capricorn conjunct Mars in Capricorn: Public discourse will be increasingly angry & polarized.
Venus in Sagittarius square Neptune in Pisces: Social relationships & values will be increasingly subject to repressive religious beliefs on one hand versus romantic fantasies on the other hand. What is reasonable?
Jupiter in Taurus square Pluto in Capricorn (out of Sign): The ideology of power will grow to extremes.
We will see only a preview of this, because Pluto will return to Capricorn for about 2 ½ months before going into Aquarius for good.

Power is expressed as necessary social, legal, military or police action to protect the nation, & to preserve law & order. Will this action further conservative ideologies, or progressive ideals? Are we drawn further into war in Ukraine, the Middle East, Taiwan, East Africa, elsewhere?
