ANNUAL FORECAST
by JOSEPH POLISE, CG-NCGR

JULY 2007 to AUGUST 2008

The planet Pluto is nearing the end of its Sagittarian transit where it has formed a trine aspect with your natal Sun. So far, this powerful transit has prompted you to creatively reassess your relationships and made you more aware of your passion. Pluto in this position reminds one that life is nothing if you fail to “follow your bliss.” For Leos who are parents or work with children in any way, this transit may have initiated some remarkable changes in their attitude (hopefully for the positive) and in your relationship with them.

Pluto’s effect on you will change starting January 26th when transit Pluto enters the sign of Capricorn. With this transit Leo natives will have to contend with changes relating to work and health. If there are any aspects of your job that are due for change, now will be the time to consider what these can be. Although transit Pluto returns to Sagittarius on June 16, 2008 for a brief final stay, make sure your relationships with co-workers and other people on the job remain smooth.

Transit Neptune in Aquarius continues to oppose you natal Sun throughout this forecast year. As some of you already know, this transit can bring changes to your sense of purpose and power in the world. While it may make you more sensitive to the needs of others, you have to strive to see all relationships clearly now as you are more vulnerable to investing in relationships that turn out to be less that what they had originally seemed.

The planet Uranus continues its transit of Pisces, where it is not making any major aspect to your natal Leo Sun. However, this is not the case for your partners, and how they handle their resources. You may notice sudden shifts in their core values that they then use to change how they handle their money. The total effect of transit Uranus in Pisces alters how you also shape your values but only in as far as you are willing to really be open and share with another.
Right after your birthday, on September 2nd, transit Saturn will finally leave your Sun sign of Leo! Now you can anticipate an easing of those ‘extra’ responsibilities that have seemed to plague you over the last 2-½ years. For many of you Leos this transit of Saturn in your sign has also left you feeling drained and/or overworked, due in part to transit Saturn’s opposition to transit Neptune throughout 2006-7. If this has been the case, with Saturn’s entry into Virgo on September 2, you will find that through improved diet, work, and exercise programs you will prosper! On an even more positive side, some of Leos have taken concrete steps to make your dreams a reality with this Saturn-Neptune opposition. If you are one of these Leos, kudos to you – let the blossoming of your dreams continue into 2008! Use the new transit Saturn in Virgo influence to realistically appraise your values and budget, and to make more investments in that which enhances your worth and security.

Transit Jupiter in Sagittarius will be forming a beautiful trine aspect with your natal Leo Sun through November 17. With some of the more difficult aspects to your Sun sign now fading, what Jupiter in Sagittarius is saying to you is simply seize every opportunity to enjoy yourself, giving and receiving affection in equal measure. Remember these are experiences that can let you express the very best energy of your sign. On December 19 this will pass, as transit Jupiter enters the sign of Capricorn. This transit can bring an increase in the scope of your work. Transit Jupiter in Capricorn will help you now to learn more effective methods of time management. Use your natural Leo leadership ability to get the job done.

In your coming forecast year, you can expect a general easing up of the pressures you’ve been experiencing recently, and the biggest changes for you will be in the areas of work and love. Beginning in July, transit Mars will be forming a square aspect with your natal Leo Sun, bringing on a definite need to perform with low-key, practical assertiveness. On August 6 transit Mars will enter the sign of Gemini, where it is forming a more favorable sextile aspect with your natal Sun. This can bring increased mental activities that can spark intellectual exchanges with your comrades.

A very important transit begins when Venus retrogrades back into Leo between August 8 and October 7. For some of you Leos, Venus’ retrograde pass back into Leo will signal a return to an issue that seemed to be resolved around June 21st -- when the final opposition between Saturn and Neptune perfected. Clarify and strengthen your resolve to clear up doubt or confusion in regard to important relationships with this second pass of Venus in your Sun sign. This may mean you or someone else will need to re-evaluate what your current needs really are; affairs will begin to advance more smoothly after September 7 when transit Venus turns Stationary-Direct in your sign.

Mercury will be transiting the sign of Scorpio between September 27 and October 22. Use this energy to make desired changes around your home. Get rid of things that only clutter your space. Focus on repairs, especially in the kitchen and bathroom, while transit Mercury is retrograde in Scorpio between October 11 and October 22. Transit Mercury will finally turn Stationary-Direct in the late degrees of Libra on November 1. The transit of Mercury through Libra will bring mental stimulation and ideas -- a great time for you Leos who enjoy creative writing and research. You can polish your ideas while transit Venus is also in the sign of Libra between November 8 and December 4; diplomacy will work wonders when negotiating with difficult people.

On December 1 transit Mercury will enter Sagittarius, where it will form a beautiful trine aspect with your natal Sun in Leo. Here transit Mercury joins Jupiter and Pluto, until December 19 when transit Jupiter enters Capricorn. This late autumn period may find you opening the door for a new romantic interest, one that preferably stimulates you to grow intellectually or stretch your mind.

This energy extends into the new year, as transit Venus is also in the sign of Sagittarius between December 30 and January 22, 2008. Transit Mercury will be in Aquarius for a somewhat lengthy stay -- between January 8 and March 14. During this period, transit Mercury turns retrograde on January 29 -- in opposition to your natal Sun in Leo. With this energy you may find your partners are more contrary than usual. You should also avoid making formal commitments and new contracts with others until after February 19 when transit Mercury again turns Direct in motion. Compounding potential confusions and delays during the entire month of January is the retrograde transit of Mars in late Gemini. Although in this position transit Mars brings opportunities through friends with its lovely sextile aspect with your natal Sun, your activities in group activities and in the community are subject to change and revision. With this placement you are likely to find people may be asking for your assistance in handling problems arising from the malfunction of vehicles and other necessary tools.

Life will seem less hectic for you Leos this winter, yet your partner’s needs continue to be paramount. Venus will be transiting through the sign of Aquarius between February 18 and March 12, joining transit Mercury in a stressful opposition to your natal Sun. Focus on really listening to significant others now. Try to relax your Leonine tendency toward dogmatism, and try to create a more balanced situation for everyone involved; you are likely to find people (especially your personal and business partners) may express values and opinions different than your own.

The month of April is the very best month this year for you to travel or begin new educational endeavors. Transit Venus will be in the sign of Aries between April 6 and April 30. Transit Mercury will also be in that sign between April 4 and April 17. Both together bring an impetus to break out of your routine and let yourself experience new places and ideas.

On April 17 transit Mercury enters Taurus, and your attention then shifts to managing career matters -- possibly sorting out financial issues related to your business. Utilizing a methodical, practical approach is important for you now to make any progress in your goals. In fact, a major Fixed T-Square aspect involving transit Venus in Taurus, transit Neptune in Aquarius, and your natal Sun in Leo begins to form on April 31, and will continue through May 24 when transit Venus finally leaves Taurus. With this configuration work and productivity must be balanced with a sensitive consideration of other people’s needs, motives, and agendas.

Between May 11 and July 1, transit Mars will be in Leo conjoining your natal Sun. This will be a fine period to turn to activities that allow you to strengthen your physical body. Take the initiative now to tackle new projects, rather than allowing irritation and temper to gain the upper hand. Your mental and social energies are also high in May; transiting Mercury in Gemini brings you opportunities through information you learn from friends as it forms a lovely sextile aspect with your natal Sun between May 3 and July 11. This energy tends to make you more eager to contact and socialize with friends, both old and new. You might even have an opportunity to reconnect with old associates you have not seen in a while, especially while transit Mercury is retrograde in Gemini between May 27 and June 20 – the Summer Solstice. Helping you smooth out matters socially will be transit Venus, also in Gemini between May 25 and June 17. This combination of transits can also help you to participate more effectively in groups, once you clarify your position and have an opportunity to voice your ideas.

As you end this forecast year you are bolstered by transit Venus in Leo, which will conjoin your natal Sun after July 13. This is followed by transit Mercury’s entry into your Sun sign on July 26. As you look ahead to the end of 2008 and into 2009, you will see a much needed reprieve for the high tension with others you have endured through over the past two years. And, as you look ahead, you will finally be able to focus your attention on yourself and new projects of self-development.
