DECEMBER
2006 to JANUARY 2008
Capricorns have some great transits
to look forward to in the next year. As a matter
of fact, for Capricorns, the planets are making
mostly supportive transits to your Sun, especially
during the first several months after your solar
return. Transit Uranus in Pisces allows for unprecedented
bursts of mental activity. However, other than for
Uranus, you Capricorn natives remain unaffected
by outer planetary transits. This will change in
Sep¬tember 2007. Transit Saturn will then enter
Virgo in trine to your natal Sun, bringing you positive
developments to help you to strengthen your intellect
through study and travel.
Throughout your forecast year, Pluto
is transiting in the last degrees of Sagittarius
making no direct aspect to your Capricorn Sun. Nevertheless,
Pluto’s relentless power is pushing and prodding
you to plumb the depths of your hidden fears and
other psychologi¬cal complexes that often undermine
your best efforts on life’s path. Unusually
perceptive and insightful people are now coming
into your life to assist you in your inner develop¬ment.
With their assistance, you are able to begin releasing
the fears which often hold you back, and take the
next step toward identifying the unseen strengths
that you will manifest more consciously when Pluto
finally enters your Sun sign of Capricorn in 2008.
Neptune, near the middle of its transit
through Aquarius, does not aspect your Sun in Capricorn,
yet its influence can be felt in your attitude toward
possessions and money. This can manifest in different
ways. In one way, you may devote more of your resources
to artistic, musical, or even better, spiritual
pursuits. These will lead you to discover tal¬ents
and interests that uplift and inspire you. Another
less constructive possibility will involve you spending
the same resources rather carelessly, thereby dissipating
your substance and leaving you feeling disillusioned.
Uranus in Pisces will continue to
transit in beneficial sextile to your natal Sun.
Innova¬tive thinking and the study of any subject
which in the past you may have considered unusual
or offbeat may be on the agenda for you now. Under
this transit you can find that the study of astrology
in particular becomes easier and more enjoyable
for you. Pay attention to sudden intuitive hunches
that seem to hit you as you walk or drive about
the neighborhood, or ideas coming to you in the
midst of your daily routines.
Saturn’s transit in Leo makes
no major aspect with your natal Capricorn Sun. Yet
you have probably experienced the real-life lessons
brought by Saturn in your finances, espe¬cially
in terms of joint holdings, investments, legacies,
and/or pension plans. Until Sep¬tember 2, 2007
you are still advised to secure you holdings in
these areas and to refrain from impulsive investing
on unknown commodities. Continue to save your money
and reduce credit debt if you can.
In September, transit Saturn will enter the Earth
sign of Virgo where it makes very favorable trine
with your natal Sun. During Saturn’s 2-1/2
year stay in Virgo you will be able to work on your
intellectual growth. This would be the perfect time
to even go back to school to earn a degree, although
as a Capricorn whatever education you pursue must
in the end be practical and help to support your
long term goals. In addition, you may also be traveling
more than usual in connection with work, or for
health and personal improvement.
As your forecast year begins, transit
Jupiter will be just settling into its transit of
Sagit¬tarius, where it also does not make any
direct aspect with your Sun. Yet in 2007 you Cap¬ricorn
natives will still experience an opportunity to
grow in your more inner and private world through
assisting those less fortunate than you. While it
won’t be necessary for you to join an ashram
or monastery, Jupiter’s stay in Sagittarius
is strong enough to assist you in your spiritual
search. Meditation, prayer, or yoga can really open
themselves up to you at this point. You can call
upon your solid work ethic to help those who are
truly needy by volunteering within your community
or church groups for a feeling of inner reward and
contentment.
You begin your forecast year with
Venus conjoining your Sun in Capri¬corn between
December 10, 2006 and January 14, 2007. This is
a beautiful influence to draw upon as you mingle
with your friends and fam¬ily over the holiday
season. Under Venus’ influence, you are more
open to adding to or improving upon your wardrobe,
perhaps something in the more traditional or classic
style that compliments you so much. And as Venus
increases your geniality and social aplomb, Mercury
in Capricorn between December 27th and January 14th
-- conjoining your Sun -- will give you the mental
energy to articulate the New Year’s and birthday
resolutions that will be subject to your Capricornian
discipline in the upcoming year.
Toward the close of your birthday
season, on January 18th, Mars enters Capricorn energizing
your natal Sun through February 25th. Mars in Capricorn
is in exaltation status, therefore within this period
you feel as though you can accomplish the impossible,
even starting that fitness pro¬gram you’ve
been putting off for so long! You are now more moti¬vated
to begin -- and energetically follow through --
on such matters. Between January 27th and February
20th transit Venus is Pisces adds a helpful sextile
aspect to your natal Sun. Transit Venus in Pisces
is also in exalted status, and brings in a strong
romantic and creative current into your thinking
over this post winter season.
Transit Mercury joins Venus in Pisces on February
3rd, and will go retrograde here beginning February
13th. While transit Mercury in Pisces is in a sextile
aspect with your natal Sun, which is usually a very
positive influence, this retrograde transit may
indeed involve the functioning of your vehicles
and other modes of transportation. Be sure to check
the level of your car fluids, especially for the
engine and radiator, to avoid unpleas¬ant mechanical
breakdowns on winter roads. You will need to be
especially cautious about such things only until
February 27th, when Mer¬cury retrogrades back
into Aquarius. When Mercury again turns direct in
Aquarius on March 7th it will not be directly aspecting
your natal Sun.
Beginning February 21st with transit
Venus’ entry into the sign of Aries, you may
encounter a transitory period of increased social
activity within your home or family circle. But
by the time Venus leaves Aries and begins its transit
of Taurus on March 17th, your main focus will be
on obtaining more pleasure and gratification in
your personal life with¬out necessarily having
to cater to outside visitors or company. Transit
Venus in Taurus makes a beautiful trine aspect with
your Sun until April 10th; this will be a period
when you can spend some wonderful times focused
on your children or creative hobbies that give you
personal pleasure. On March 18th transit Mercury
will enter Pisces where it will remain through April
9th, forming a lovely sextile aspect with your natal
Sun. This transit will help you to come up with
great ideas that have you thinking “outside
the box”, bringing your imagination to bear
upon everyday problem solving.
Between April 6th and May 14th, transit
Mars in Pisces will add yet another helpful sex¬tile
to your Capricorn Sun. Coming as it does on the
heels of the Mercury-in-Pisces transit, you will
need to occupy your fertile mind with a productive
yet imaginative activity. In fact, a developing
theme of spring and your forecast year in general
will be your focus on mental and intellectual application
and development. Another transiting aspect supporting
this theme will be Mercury in Aries from April 10th
through April 26th. Here Mercury is square to your
natal Sun, which while stressful will nevertheless
give you some mental ballast you can use to initiate
tough projects, particularly those around the home.
For Capricorns, the most challenging portion of
the forecast year will be mid to late Spring, starting
in May and lasting throughout June. At this point,
your focus will shift from mental and creative activities
to coping with the emotional demands of partners.
Venus is in the sign of Cancer -- in a difficult
opposition aspect with your Capricorn Sun –
between May 8th and June 4th. This could indicate
a need for you to cope with a moody or over-sensitive
partner. During almost the same period – May
15th through June 23rd – transit Mars in Aries
is also square to your natal Sun. These transits
in Cardinal signs will involve your Sun in a stressful
T-Square configuration, making the situation around
your home quite turbulent if you don’t balance
your wishes with those of others. Thus, the art
of compromise will be important, most pointedly
between May 15th and June 5th.
Trying to decode other people’s
mixed emotional signals can also be an issue for
Capri¬corns during late Spring, when transit
Mercury also moves through Cancer. It turns retrograde
in this Water sign on June 15th. During this retrograde
period your partners may change their mind about
mutual plans or goals on which they need your cooperation.
Hold back on any swift judgments that may delay
matters even more. Transit Mercury will once again
go direct on July 9th and you will once again be
seeing “eye to eye” with other people.
Actually, once you get past the pressures
of Spring, the planetary currents of 2007 once again
move in your favor! You will benefit from a beautiful
Grand Trine pattern that begins to form on July
24th when transit Mars enters the sign of Taurus.
The configura¬tion really kicks into gear on
July 14th when transit Venus enters the sign of
Virgo. This marks the beginning of a special period
where those of you who are unattached and looking
for new love can find it. Alternately, you may find
an already existing relationship will become more
fun and varied, with travel possibly part of the
picture. Remember, even though you Capricorn natives
are usually hard-working and reliable, the Earth
ele¬ment of your nature enjoys the sensual side
of life: during this Summer, transit Venus and Mars
in a Grand Trine with your natal Sun will help you
experience this!
Don’t even be surprised if an
old flame suddenly makes an appear¬ance in your
life with the retrograde movement of Venus in Virgo
starting July 27th. As transit Venus retro¬grades
into Leo it makes no major aspect with your natal
Sun -- yet you should definitely keep a close watch
on your spending, especially in your use of credit
and loans. Specifically use the period between August
8th and September 7th (when transit Venus stations
Direct in Leo) to clear up old debts and collect
any monies owed to you.
In the late Summer of 2007 the sign Virgo is emphasized
by plane¬tary transits, assist¬ing you in
educational and travel related goals. First, transit
Mercury enters Virgo on August 19th , joined by
the Sun in Virgo on August 23rd, both forming beautiful
trine aspects with your natal Capricorn Sun. Through
September 4th you will feel almost tireless as you
are able to identify and unload yourself of useless
things that prevent you from mak¬ing headway
on your goals. Then on September 2nd Saturn begins
its 2½ year transit of Virgo, and you begin
to contemplate the possibility of serious study
or more education. On September 5th transit Mercury
enters the sign of Libra where it forms a difficult
square aspect with your natal Capricorn Sun. With
this energy you may feel motivated to share new
ideas with others through your career, having already
thought through many different implications of what
you are now expressing.
During Autumn 2007 your life once
again becomes more directly challenging. On Sep¬tember
27th transit Mercury enters the sign of Scorpio,
where it makes a helpful sextile aspect with your
natal Sun. This puts friends and groups you are
involved with under the microscope, and you are
more penetrating in your evaluations as to why you
have these associations in the first place. A much
more difficult transit begins in September 28th,
with the entry of transit Mars into the sign Cancer.
Mars in Cancer forms a difficult opposition aspect
with your natal Sun. Partners can now become either
more stimulating, or more annoying to you; you will
need to watch your temper so that nothing gets out
of hand. Then transit Mercury goes retrograde in
the sign of Scorpio on October 10th; it will continue
its backward motion until it reaches Libra on October
23rd. Mercury in the sign of Libra forms a challenging
square aspect with your Sun. This can create mis-communica¬tions
on the job that may not be resolved until November
1st, when Mercury goes Direct again.
As you approach the closing period
of your forecast year, you will be very busy indeed
trying to balance the competing demands of your
career and personal relationships. Transit Venus
will enter the sign of Libra, a sign of planetary
strength, on November 9th, but it will be challenging
your natal Sun with a difficult square aspect. This
transit will keeps you in the public eye while initiating
career-enhancing partnerships. A exceptionally difficult
Cardinal T-Square develops now, which involves your
natal Sun, transit Venus in Libra, and transit Mars
in Cancer. Mars will become more problematic for
you when it turns Retrograde on November 15th –
and it will remain Retrograde in the sign of Cancer
for the remainder of this forecast period. Unexpressed
anger and passive aggression can now create unsettling
situations between you and your partners. Use the
discipline of your Capricorn Sun and the diplomacy
of transit Venus in Libra to straighten things out.
After December 5th, when transit Venus enters the
sign of Scorpio, you will be able to more deeply
understand the source of any problems, perhaps through
the insights of friends.
You will enter into your next forecast
year on a planetary high; transit Jupiter will be
leaving Sagittarius and entering your Sun sign of
Capricorn on December 19th! With this transit you
Capricorn natives will begin a year of wonderful
opportunities and expansive growth!! Jupiter will
be highlighting your Solar returns next year, so
with along with transit Saturn’s very positive
trine aspect with your natal Sun, you can look forward
to 2008 being an especially lucky and productive
year indeed!
